Adverbs can tell you where, when, how, why and to what extent something happens.
Adverbs:
- Modify (describe) a verb, adjective, or another adverb.
- Most words that end in –ly are adverbs.
- Not and n’t are always adverbs
- Most adverbs modify verbs.
- If the verb being modified is part of a verb phrase, the adjective modifies the whole phrase.
