This free online Chinese to English dictionary allows you to input GB (simplified) or Big 5 (traditional) characters as well as Pinyin and outputs the English word or words. For instance type in “Ni hao” and you get the characters as well as the pinyin and tones (to ensure you’ve typed the correct pinyin or character initially). And of course you get the English definition – “hello/how are you”.

Character Dictionary
This online character dictionary contains information about single Chinese characters. Each entry in the online character dictionary consists of a Chinese character, radical and stroke count, the English definition, Mandarin pinyin pronunciations, Yale & Jyutping Cantonese pronunciation, simplified and traditional variants and cangjie. Type in “Ni hao” and it shows the definitions of “Ni” and the definitions of “hao”.
